Refund Policy
Refund eligibility, request procedures, processing, exceptions, and related billing rules for OQ Market Analytics subscriptions.
This Refund Policy describes the refund practices of OQ MARKET ANALYTICS LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("OQ Market Analytics," "we," "us," or "our").
This Policy applies to purchases of subscriptions and related services offered through:
https://obsessedquant.com https://alerts.obsessedquant.com
- These services are collectively referred to as the "Service."
This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Subscription and Cancellation Policy, Privacy Policy, Investment Disclaimer, and Risk Disclosure.
By purchasing a subscription, you acknowledge and agree to this Refund Policy.
1. GENERAL REFUND RULE
Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated otherwise, subscription fees are generally non-refundable after they have been charged.
Canceling a subscription normally prevents future renewal charges but does not create a prorated refund for the unused portion of the current billing period.
Customers generally retain access through the end of the paid billing period when a subscription is canceled at the end of the current period.
This policy does not limit any legal rights that cannot be waived.
2. MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTIONS
Monthly subscription charges are generally non-refundable after they are processed.
If you cancel a monthly subscription, the cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period.
You generally retain access until that period ends.
No prorated refund is normally provided for unused days remaining in the monthly billing period.
3. ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS
Annual subscription charges are generally non-refundable after they are processed.
If you cancel an annual subscription, the cancellation normally prevents the next annual renewal charge.
You generally retain access until the end of the current paid annual billing period.
No prorated refund is normally provided for unused months remaining in the annual billing period.
4. PROMOTIONAL AND DISCOUNTED SUBSCRIPTIONS
Subscription fees paid using a promotion, coupon, introductory offer, limited-time discount, or other reduced price are generally subject to the same refund rules as standard-price subscriptions.
The expiration of a promotion, a change in available discounts, or the later availability of a lower price does not ordinarily qualify a previous charge for a refund.
Promotional pricing may apply only to a specific billing period and may renew at the regular price disclosed during checkout.
5. DUPLICATE CHARGES
A refund may be issued when we verify that the same customer was charged more than once for the same intended subscription period.
Possible causes of duplicate charges may include:
- Multiple Checkout Sessions
- Multiple Auth0 accounts
- Multiple Stripe customer records
- Repeated purchase attempts
- Browser or network interruptions
- Delayed subscription synchronization
- A technical or payment-processing error
Contact us promptly if you believe you were charged more than once.
We may request information such as:
- The email address used to sign in
- The dates and amounts of the charges
- The last four digits of the payment card
- Stripe invoice or receipt identifiers
- Stripe customer or subscription identifiers
- Screenshots of the charges
Do not send your complete card number, card security code, password, authentication token, bank-account credentials, or Stripe secret key.
6. BILLING ERRORS
A full or partial refund may be issued when we verify that a charge resulted from a billing error.
Examples may include:
- A charge for the wrong subscription plan
- A charge for an incorrect amount
- A renewal after a properly completed cancellation
- A charge caused by a confirmed system error
- An incorrectly applied promotion
- A charge that Stripe confirms was duplicated
- An incorrect tax or billing adjustment
A difference between an expected price and the price clearly disclosed during checkout is not necessarily a billing error.
We may review Stripe records, subscription history, cancellation records, account logs, checkout metadata, webhook records, and customer communications when investigating a billing concern.
8. FAILURE TO USE THE SERVICE
A refund is not normally provided because a customer:
- Did not use the Service
- Forgot about the subscription
- Did not sign in
- Did not view the dashboard
- Did not use all available features
- Changed investment or trading plans
- No longer needs the Service
- Failed to cancel before renewal
- Did not read a renewal or billing notice
- Was dissatisfied with market conditions
- Experienced investment or trading losses
- Disagreed with an analytical result
- Expected a particular investment outcome
Subscription fees pay for the availability of access during the applicable billing period, not for a guaranteed level of usage or financial result.
9. INVESTMENT AND TRADING RESULTS
Refunds are not provided based on investment or trading performance.
The Service provides informational and educational market analytics and does not guarantee:
- Profits
- Successful trades
- Accurate predictions
- Particular market outcomes
- Avoidance of loss
- Suitability for a particular customer
- Continuous or real-time data
- Performance of any security or strategy
Trading and investing involve risk, including the risk of substantial or complete loss.
A customer's investment gain, loss, missed opportunity, transaction cost, tax consequence, or trading decision does not qualify the subscription fee for a refund.
10. TECHNICAL PROBLEMS
A brief, intermittent, or isolated technical problem does not normally qualify for a refund.
Before requesting a refund for a technical issue, the customer should make reasonable efforts to:
- Sign out and sign back in
- Confirm use of the correct Auth0 account
- Refresh the browser
- Try a supported browser
- Disable conflicting browser extensions
- Confirm internet connectivity
- Clear appropriate browser data
- Review the account and subscription status
- Contact support
- Allow us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and correct the issue
A full or partial refund may be considered when a verified technical failure materially prevented paid access for an extended portion of the billing period and we were unable to provide a reasonable remedy.
11. SERVICE OUTAGES
The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of:
- Scheduled maintenance
- Emergency maintenance
- Azure service interruptions
- Auth0 service interruptions
- Stripe service interruptions
- Databricks job failures
- Market-data provider outages
- Network failures
- Security incidents
- Dashboard-generation failures
- Events beyond our reasonable control
Short-term interruptions do not normally qualify for a refund.
We may consider a refund, service credit, or extension when:
- A material portion of the paid Service was unavailable
- The outage continued for an extended period
- The issue was verified
- The customer could not reasonably access an equivalent service
- We were unable to restore access within a reasonable time
The type and amount of any remedy will depend on the duration, severity, affected features, subscription price, and circumstances of the outage.
13. AUTHENTICATION AND ACCOUNT ISSUES
A refund is not normally provided when access is unavailable because the customer:
- Uses a different Auth0 account from the one connected to the subscription
- Uses a different email address
- Forgets login credentials
- Fails to verify an email address
- Shares account credentials
- Creates multiple accounts
- Blocks required cookies or authentication storage
- Refuses reasonable account-verification steps
- Violates account-security requirements
We will make reasonable efforts to help verify and restore access when the customer can establish ownership of the relevant account and subscription.
14. ACCOUNT SHARING OR POLICY VIOLATIONS
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of the Terms of Service, including:
- Account sharing
- Unauthorized redistribution
- Automated scraping
- Circumvention of authentication
- Unauthorized commercial use
- Security abuse
- Fraud
- Payment abuse
- Misuse of Service content
A suspension or termination resulting from a violation of our Terms does not ordinarily qualify for a refund.
15. IMMEDIATE CANCELLATION
If an immediate cancellation option is available and the customer selects it, access may end immediately.
An immediate cancellation does not automatically produce a refund.
Before confirming immediate cancellation, the customer should review whether:
- Access will end immediately
- Unused time will be forfeited
- A prorated refund will be provided
- The cancellation can be reversed
Any refund associated with immediate cancellation will be provided only when expressly stated or approved in writing.
16. CANCELLATION AT PERIOD END
When a subscription is canceled at the end of the current billing period:
- Future renewal should stop
- The subscription may remain active until the period ends
- Access generally continues until the period ends
- No prorated refund is normally issued
- The subscription may display a scheduled cancellation date
Stripe supports cancellation at the end of the current billing period and customer management through its hosted customer portal.[3][4]
17. FORGOTTEN CANCELLATIONS
Forgetting to cancel before a renewal date does not automatically qualify the renewal charge for a refund.
We may consider a discretionary refund when:
- The customer contacts us promptly after renewal
- Service usage after renewal was minimal or nonexistent
- No previous refund exception has been granted
- The request appears to be made in good faith
- The circumstances do not indicate abuse
Approval is not guaranteed.
Any exception for a forgotten cancellation is made at our discretion and does not establish a continuing policy or precedent.
18. REFUND REQUEST DEADLINE
Refund requests should be submitted promptly after the charge or event giving rise to the request.
Unless a longer period is required by law, we recommend submitting a request within 14 calendar days after the charge.
Delays may limit our ability to investigate:
- Duplicate charges
- Unauthorized transactions
- Technical failures
- Cancellation records
- Account activity
- Payment-processing errors
A request submitted after 14 days may still be reviewed, but approval is not guaranteed.
19. HOW TO REQUEST A REFUND
Submit a refund request to:
OQ MARKET ANALYTICS LLC
Email:
Subject:
- Refund Request
Include the following information:
- Your full name
- The email address used to sign in
- The Stripe billing email, if different
- The subscription plan
- The date and amount of the charge
- The reason for the request
- Any relevant Stripe receipt or invoice identifier
- Any relevant screenshots or error messages

Do not include:
- Your password
- Your Auth0 access token
- Your complete card number
- Your card security code
- Your bank-account credentials
- Your Stripe secret key
- Your Auth0 secret
20. IDENTITY VERIFICATION
Before issuing a refund, we may verify that the requester is authorized to act for the relevant account.
Verification may include:
- Confirming control of the account email
- Requesting that the customer sign in
- Comparing Stripe and Auth0 identifiers
- Reviewing subscription records
- Reviewing payment and invoice details
- Requesting limited additional information
We may decline to disclose account information or issue a refund when identity or account ownership cannot be reasonably verified.
21. REFUND REVIEW PROCESS
When reviewing a request, we may consider:
- The reason for the request
- The charge date
- The cancellation date
- The subscription status
- Service usage
- Account activity
- Previous refunds
- Technical logs
- Outage records
- Stripe records
- Auth0 records
- Azure subscription records
- Webhook history
- Reconciliation records
- Support history
- Evidence of fraud or abuse
- Applicable law
We may approve:
- A full refund
- A partial refund
- A service credit
- A subscription extension
- Another reasonable remedy
- No refund
The remedy will depend on the facts and applicable law.
22. REFUND DECISION TIME
We will make reasonable efforts to review refund requests promptly.
Review time may vary depending on:
- The complexity of the request
- The information provided
- The need to verify identity
- The need to review technical logs
- The need to consult Stripe
- The presence of a dispute or chargeback
- The number of related transactions
We may request additional information before making a decision.
23. REFUND PROCESSING TIME
Approved refunds are generally submitted through Stripe to the original payment method.
The time required for the refund to appear depends on Stripe, the card network, the customer's bank, and the payment method.
OQ Market Analytics does not control the time required by a bank or card issuer to post an approved refund.
A refund may appear as:
- A credit
- A reversal
- A canceled pending charge
- A separate refund transaction
- Stripe's documentation distinguishes subscription cancellation from the separate act of issuing a refund.[3]
24. ORIGINAL PAYMENT METHOD
Refunds are ordinarily returned to the original payment method.
We generally cannot:
- Send a refund to a different card
- Send a refund to another person's account
- Provide a cash refund
- Send a refund through an unrelated payment application
- Redirect a refund to a different bank account
If the original payment method is no longer available, Stripe and the financial institution may determine how the refund is handled.
25. PARTIAL REFUNDS
A partial refund may be considered when:
- Only part of the Service was materially unavailable
- A billing adjustment is appropriate
- A service issue affected only part of the paid period
- A full refund would not reasonably reflect the circumstances
- Applicable law requires a partial remedy
A partial refund is not guaranteed and will be calculated using a reasonable method based on the circumstances.
26. SERVICE CREDITS AND EXTENSIONS
Instead of a monetary refund, we may offer:
- A subscription extension
- A future billing credit
- A promotional credit
- Access to a replacement service
- Another reasonable remedy
A customer is not required to accept a credit in place of a refund when applicable law requires a monetary refund.
Any credit or extension may have an expiration date or other reasonable conditions.
27. EFFECT OF A FULL REFUND
When a full refund is issued:
- Dashboard access may end immediately
- The subscription may be canceled
- Future renewals may be stopped
- The related invoice may be marked refunded
- The account may remain available for future resubscription
- Historical transaction records may be retained
A refund does not automatically delete the customer's Auth0 account or personal information.
28. EFFECT OF A PARTIAL REFUND
When a partial refund is issued:
- Access may continue
- Access may end
- The subscription may remain active
- The subscription may be canceled
- A future credit may be applied
The applicable outcome will be communicated when the refund is approved.
29. CHARGEBACKS AND PAYMENT DISPUTES
Customers should contact us before initiating a chargeback when they believe a billing error has occurred.
We will make reasonable efforts to investigate legitimate concerns.
If a customer initiates a chargeback or payment dispute:
- Stripe may restrict the transaction or subscription
- We may suspend access
- We may submit relevant records to Stripe or the financial institution
- The subscription may be canceled
- The account may be restricted
- A separate refund may not be issued while the dispute remains open
Relevant records may include:
- Checkout consent
- Subscription terms
- Billing records
- Cancellation records
- Login records
- Account identifiers
- Service-access records
- Communications
- Refund-policy disclosures
Nothing in this section limits a customer's lawful right to dispute an unauthorized or incorrect charge.
30. REFUND ABUSE
We may deny a refund request or restrict an account when we reasonably believe there is:
- Fraud
- Repeated refund abuse
- Chargeback abuse
- Intentional duplicate purchasing
- Account sharing
- Use of the Service followed by a bad-faith refund request
- False information
- Manipulation of promotional offers
- Misrepresentation of account activity
We may retain relevant records as permitted by law to prevent fraud and protect the Service.
31. THIRD-PARTY PURCHASES
This Policy applies to subscriptions purchased directly through the payment methods we provide.
If the Service is later sold through a third-party marketplace, application store, reseller, or other platform, that third party's refund process may apply.
We may not be able to directly refund a payment collected and controlled by another platform.
32. TAXES AND REFUNDS
An approved refund may include applicable taxes that were collected on the refunded amount.
The amount and treatment of refunded taxes may depend on:
- Stripe Tax
- Applicable tax law
- The type of transaction
- The customer's location
- The amount refunded
- The timing of the refund
Certain taxes, fees, currency-conversion charges, or bank charges may not be refundable by OQ Market Analytics.
33. CURRENCY CONVERSION AND BANK FEES
If a customer's bank converts the subscription charge into another currency, the refunded amount may differ because of:
- Exchange-rate changes
- Foreign transaction fees
- Bank fees
- Card-network fees
- Rounding
OQ Market Analytics is not responsible for differences caused by a bank, card issuer, payment network, or currency conversion.
34. LEGALLY REQUIRED REFUNDS
We will provide refunds when required by applicable law.
Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Where this Policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the legal requirement controls.
35. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time.
When we update it, we will revise:
- The Last Updated date
- The policy version
- The effective date, when applicable
Material changes may be communicated through:
- The Service
- An account notice
- A website banner
- Stripe Checkout
- The Stripe Billing Portal
- Another reasonable method
The version in effect when a charge occurs will generally apply to that charge, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
36. RELATIONSHIP TO OTHER POLICIES
This Refund Policy should be read together with:
- Terms of Service
- Subscription and Cancellation Policy
- Privacy Policy
- Investment Disclaimer
- Risk Disclosure
If a plan-specific refund term clearly displayed during checkout conflicts with a general provision in this Policy, the clearly disclosed plan-specific term controls for that purchase, to the extent permitted by law.
